The follow up to debut MARKX's debut EP Water, 'Air', is now available to stream and download from all major digital stores!
About the EP MARKX adds:
"This collection is my most personal yet - they really are the soundtrack to a very exciting yet challenging part of my life. I feel like these three tracks are some of the most honest and heartfelt songs I've ever written and they all come from a very genuine place".
The EP features collaborations with 5 other songwriters including 'Helium Balloon', co-written with the collections producer, Michael Clarke. The tracklisting is as follows:
1. 'Sleeping With A Ghost' (MARKX, Murdoch)
2. 'Complete' (MARKX, Johnson & Dorey)
3. 'Helium Balloon' (MARKX, Clarke & Kelly)
Reflecting on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter #14 and Scottish Global Music Chart #3 placings for 'Holding On To Water' MARKX adds:
"I do feel the pressure to better the last EP, however that said, this EP is unique in its own way and it being here is success enough. These songs, despite the EP's theme, capture a very nostalgic point in my life where the only thing constant in the air is change"
The EP includes a cover of Matt Johnson's 'Complete', effectively a cover of one of MARKX's own songs! He explains:
"Complete has a very special place in my heart as it was the first song I had placed with an established artist. It would always find a way into my live shows and it only felt right to do my own take on the song"
About the artwork MARKX adds:
"The artwork and site animations have again been lovingly created by Morgan Twiston Davies. I've been working with Morgan for over a year now and he's wonderfully captured the essence of my vision for the songs and eco brand going forward"
