My brand new single 'Sahara Sand' is out now!

The track originally featured on my artist project. MARKX, on the album 'Laments', To celebrate the launch of my new brand Ian's Tracks, it is finally being released as a single!

​

The track was co-written and produced by Hati, who perfectly captured the Eastern travel vibes, from my adventures to Morocco, Georgia and the Middle East.

​

The song was inspired by a warm summers day in Brighton, where Sahara sand had been carried by the wind, all the way over from the Sahara to the UK. All of a sudden, the sun disappeared and the sky was filled with this eerie yellow hue. I remembered feeling as though the world was ending. It was really quite unsettling to say the least!

The crazy thing about this song is it was written in less than half an hour! We had some time remaining, following a productive writing session and decided to 'go for broke'!

​

Another reason to re-release the track is my recent re-visit to Morocco, I kept heating it going through my head watching the beautiful Marrakesh sunsets.

​

I listened back to this song, following an extended break of several years from releasing music. I really attribute 'Sahara Sand' for making me fall back in love with songwriting. I resonate with the lyrics even more so now and feel it has really stood the test of time and count it as my favourite song to date.​
